Full-Time Associate Youth & Pastoral Advocate
Seeking a qualified individual to work as part of a team in both Youth Ministry and Pastoral Services.
Full-Time (35 Hours/Week), Exempt Position
Basic Description of Responsibilities Throughout the Year - Youth Ministry
Assist with planning, organization, communication, and execution of high school youth nights (Life Teen), special events, Confirmation Preparation, and other special projects and initiatives within Youth Ministry
Share in the responsibilities of Youth Ministry office management and communications with parents, teens, parish, staff, and phone/email/social media
Assisting with Life Nights as needed in the areas of preparation, theme, set up, execution, and cleanup. This position also will be exposed to working with teens in a small group setting at Life Nights
Assist with marketing and promoting of Youth Ministry events with fresh ideas and clean designs
Serve as primary liaison for Youth Adult Ministry and activities
Assist with ongoing fundraising efforts and come up with innovative ways to continue to connect our Youth Ministry movement with our donors and supporters
Basic Description of Responsibilities Throughout the Year - Pastoral Services
Support the Pastoral Services Coordinator in general needs in areas of Pastoral Care, Human Concerns, and Parish Life in planning, communication, organization, as well as execution of specific meetings, events, etc.
Weekly ministry communication needs for Flocknote, Spoken Announcements, and parish bulletin, and the communication/organization involved in those preparations
Provides direct and prompt support to ministry coordinator requests and needs
Main point of contact and support with the Pastoral Services Coordinator and the Pastoral Associate are in meetings or offsite, etc., for incoming needs, especially those of coordinators, calendaring, Pastoral Care, events, etc.
Support in wedding, funeral, and other Pastoral Care needs, such as schedules, funeral records, and reception signups, etc.
Pastoral Services digital content and media updates and needs for Pastoral Care, Human Concerns, and Parish Life
Serves as point of contact and supports special projects and quarterly/annual events for the parish and Knights of Columbus
Key support in brainstorming and execution of department and ministry overlap and networking for various events and regular ministry happenings
Qualifications
An exemptional candidate will possess a solid prayer life and relationship with the Lord. Candidate should have some idea of the life, habits, and culture of Gen Z and possess a burning desire to lead young people close to Christ and his Church, as well as toward active involvement in their parish community, while also fostering a larger parish culture which supports and embraces young people. Compassion and empathy should be evident, as the Candidate could be involved in pastoral are situations, with funeral planning, wedding details, ministry needs, etc. The Candidate should have fantastic organizational skills, be proactive/self-starter idea person, who enjoys collaborating with their team, while identifying and anticipating upcoming needs, exemplifies strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, Windows, Canva) and the ability to communicate effectively with other staff, parents, teens, ministry coordinators, and others who contact the Youth Ministry Team and Pastoral Team.
