November is a time to give thanks, and we ask you to join us in thanking Tom Kaczmarek, as he leaves his position as our Director of Music. Tom has undergone multiple medical challenges over the past few months and has decided with his wife Lori to take leave of his position and focus on healing his body. As we prepare to open the position to the public, we wanted to take the time to honor the past 28 years of dedicated service that Tom has poured out over our parish.
During the Month of November 2022 Let's give thanks for Tom's gifts of music to our parish. Drop off your cards of thanks and well wishes in the Commons (cornucopia and basket display).
A Note from Tom
Dear St. Michael Parish,
What a way to spend a summer! Lori and I have missed you all—though so strongly felt your love and our Father's love wrapped around us through your prayers, words and cards of support, meals, weeding, errands, and all other blessings you have showered on us.
The good news is that I continue to have music, creative prose, off-color humor, and many of my other endearing 'Tom' characteristics running through my mind. My hands and mouth and the rest of my body just won't yet cooperate with doing what I need them to do. My new full-time job is rehab and recovery, working all day long (between naps) on harnessing the neuroplasticity of my brain, training new pathways to reestablish connections with various parts of my body.
This is not how I wanted to say goodbye in my role as your Director of Music Ministry, but it's been a joy and a privilege to serve you, the St. Michael community, for the past 28 years. We look forward to seeing you at Mass.
Christ's peace to all of you, Tom (& Lori) Kaczmarek
