"May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to think in harmony with one another, in keeping with Christ Jesus, that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." (Romans 15:5-7)
Are you a St. Michael parishioner?
Is the LGBTQ+ faith journey a topic of importance to you?
November 19 Virtual Meeting We invite interested St. Michael parishioners to attend a virtual, guided conversation that will go over the report based on the responses from the August 2024 regional conversation.
Come together with us for an open-hearted conversation about spirituality, acceptance, and community. Join our virtual conversation to share your unique experiences and imagine together a Church that supports each other in faith. Your point of view matters.
During this 90-minute virtual conversation, participants will join a facilitated conversation with five to seven others to listen and share responses to the regional report in a safe and supportive space. A preparatory guide, including the regional report, with questions for the parish conversation, as well as an outline of the parish conversation format, will be sent to all participants.
All conversations will be confidential; a strategic plan will be created from the responses to the parish conversation with action steps for St. Michael Parish to continue to be a parish of welcoming for all cultures and peoples. Questions? If you have any questions, we invite you to reach out and contact either Robert Choiniere, of the Ignatian Encounter Ministry, or Sarah Brockwell, our Director of Faith Formation.

August 2024 | Virtual Regional Conversation
On August 22, 2024, a regional conversation was held for LBGTQ+ Catholics, families, and friends. We discussed the following:
How has the Catholic Church supported and/or hindered you and your family in your faith journey?
What are your hopes for a faith community?
How can St. Michael Parish support and nurture your faith and respond to the needs and hopes of LGBTQ+ Catholics and their families?
Why are we holding a conversation for LGBTQ+ Catholics?
The recent three-year process initiated by Pope Francis called the Synod on Synodality resulted in identifying groups in the margins and started the conversations about how to bring the margins back from the edges.
What is Synodality? It is a style of being and living within the Catholic Church, described as a way of journeying together. It involves the participation of the entire People of God in the Church's life and mission and is characterized by fraternal collaboration, discernment, and authentic dialogue.
