The Appalachian Twinning Ministry (ATM) strives to support low income and poverty level families in Southwest Virginia, helping them meet basic needs. Our nutritional focus helps families who struggle to feed their primary school age children. We collaborate and support food banks and the Backpack Programs in Tazewell and Buchanan Counties.
Holy Family Parish Bulletins and ATM Meeting Minutes have been moved. Please see the subpages labeled "Holy Family Parish Bulletins" and "Meeting Minutes" under this page to access these documents!
The Appalachian Twinning Ministry, commonly known as ATM, works closely with four specific parishes, within Holy Family Parish in southwest Virginia. They are a constant Catholic presence, and the ministry stands with our brothers and sisters of the Appalachian Region of Virginia, providing many types of outreach activities and services.
How can you get involved? If you are interested in working on strategic planning for future work and outreach with Holy Family Parish, would like to get involved in the ministry by supporting the wonderful work they do, or have items which could possibly be donated, please reach out!
Note from Teen Venture
Mark Law, ATM's Point of Contact with Teen Venture in Richlands, recently received a Thank You note from their Director, Carol Ann Lawrence, expressing their appreciation for the funds ATM sent to help support salaries and overhead expenses. Mark Law and Will Langley had the opportunity to meet with Carol Ann and some other Board members in September.

St. Elizabeth Celebration
Fr. Dan Brady and ATM members, Paul & Kathy Smith, Nora Newell, Robert McBride, Will Langley, and Mark Law, attended the 125th Anniversary Celebration at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Pocahontas. Bishop Knestout presided at the Mass, blessed the restored murals, and installed Fr. Eric as Pastor of Holy Family Parish. The church was filled with parishioners from all four churches within Holy Family Parish and also with some former parishioners who had moved away. A luncheon followed at the Fincastle Country Club in Bluefield. Everyone had a wonderful time and were glad to be a part of this most historic occasion.
Coats for Kids
As part of their "Coats for Kids" drive, Knights of Columbus Councils from St. Michael, Our Lady of Lourdes, and St. Ann recently collaborated to collect and deliver new winter coats to children in Tazewell. Pictured below are (left to right) Larry Selvaggi (Abingdon), Zach Hash (new inductee from St. Theresa's), Fr Eric, Mike Martin, Jim Talbert (St. Theresa); Nicky Zuber, and John Houston (both from Abingdon) on the day of the delivery. Thank you to the Knights and those who donated to their drive, and please continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in all parts of the world!
