Senior Citizen Support
The Shepherd's Center of Richmond is a volunteer organization that provides services free of charge (donations are welcome but not required) to members of the community over 60 years of age.
- Transportation - Rides to medical and dental appointments, and to grocery stores are available between 9.00 AM and 3.30 PM, Monday through Friday. Please call one week ahead of time.
- Grocery Shopping - Shopping is done a maximum of twice a month for persons unable to shop for themselves or for those needing assistance.
- Friendly Calls / Visits - An individual desiring additional companionship and support is assigned a volunteer. Weekly contact is made, usually by telephone.
- Minor Home Repairs - Services including minor plumbing, electrical and carpentry repair. Clients pay the cost of materials.
- Useful Bits - Volunteers, if available, will write letters, read aloud, balance check books, write checks and inquire about insurance.
