St. Michael Pastoral Care
Bereavement Ministry

The St. Michael Bereavement Ministry, under the leadership of Mary Beth Poma, provides receptions for bereaved families and their guests immediately following funeral services conducted at St. Michael. Each reception is a personalized celebration of the life of the person who has died. As such, the reception has a strong pastoral dimension and is a natural extension of the funeral service itself. Even the décor conveys a sense of resurrection and the passage of the families' love one into eternal life. All meals served at these receptions are home made, which adds to the personal touch that is so much appreciated by the bereaved families.

If you would like to become involved in this vital ministry, or would simply like more information, please contact Mary Beth at 804-364-4343 or by email at mbpoma@comcast.net.

Necessary orientation and training information will be provided by Mary Beth. In addition, she has structured this ministry in such a way as to minimize the burden on the individual volunteer.
