Our Lady of HopeOur Lady of Hope Health Center
The spiritual lives of the residents are the primary focus of our ministry at Our Lady of Hope.
On the First Friday of each month, there is communal recitation of the rosary followed by a Communion service. The rosary is also prayed each Wednesday. On the third Wednesday, a Communion service again follows the rosary. These activities are held in the chapel. We plan to expand our ministry at Our Lady of Hope to include individual Communion for those residents who are unable to attend services in the chapel.
Bishop Emeritus Walter Sullivan, who played an integral role in the founding of Our Lady of Hope, remains active there even during his retirement. Generally he presides at Mass once a month. In addition, Father Dan has added a quarterly Mass at Our Lady of Hope to his calendar.
Those involved in our ministry at Our Lady of Hope find it very rewarding. Our team, led by Kathy O'Connor, is always in need of volunteers, especially those who can take Communion to individual residents. If you are interested in volunteering, or if you have questions, please contact Deacon Dave Nemetz (527-1037, ext. 19 or at
dnemetz@saint-mikes.org) or Kathy O'Connor (
ktmcroe@verizon.net).
Attendance at an orientation conducted by the Our Lady of Hope Activities Director and a diocesan background check are required for all those involved in this ministry.
