Our Lady of Hope Health Center
The spiritual lives of the residents are the primary focus of our ministry at Our Lady of Hope.
Every Sunday at 11:00 a.m., our Pastoral Care Ministers lead a Sunday communion service in the chapel at Our Lady of Hope. Consecrated hosts are brought into the facility, the readings of the day are proclaimed, and the chapel is filled with liturgical music. Participation in this service fulfills the Sunday obligation of all communicants. Room-bound residents can watch the service over close-circuit TV; an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion to the sick visits those residents to administer Holy Communion.
There is a rosary and communion service every Wednesday morning. On the first Friday of every month, there is service dedicated to the Sacred Heart, including proclaiming the readings of the day, reciting the rosary, and administering Communion. All of these activities are held in the beautiful chapel dedicated to our Blessed Mother.
Eucharist is brought to the room-bound residents every Sunday (and most Mondays and Saturdays). The different liturgical seasons of the Church, such as Palm Crosses for all the residents on Palm Sunday and Stations of the Cross every Friday during Lent, are also addressed. The residents receive a Christmas card from Fr. Dan and the Pastoral Care Ministers. Our most generous parishioners also give Christmas gifts to the residents.
Fr. Jim Arsenault celebrates Mass in the chapel one day each month.
Those involved in our ministry to Our Lady of Hope find it very rewarding, and the residents are most thankful. Our team, lead by Coordinator Kathy O'Connor, is always in need of volunteers. Kathy welcomes all who want to follow Christ by helping us feed His sheep.
