Card Ministry/Light Writers
The Light Writers Ministry's mission is to communicate our prayers and thoughts by sending handwritten cards to parishioners who are ill or homebound. We would like to extend our mission by sending our prayers and wishes to those in our parish who are celebrating milestone anniversaries and birthdays. If you know of anyone from the parish who has an upcoming milestone anniversary, please contact Andrea Rawluk, Light Writers Ministry Coordinator, at email@example.com. Make sure to include the following information: (1) name(s); (2) reason for card; (3) mailing address(es) of recipients.
We keep all information confidential. Before sending your request, however, please consider whether or not the recipient would want to share this information.
Also, we would like to send cards to members of the military with ties to St. Michael. If you have a family member who is serving in the military and would like us to send a card, please contact Andrea. We can either send the card or simply prepare it for you to send yourself if you would prefer to keep their identity and location confidential.
It is the mission of the Pastoral Care Card Ministry - Light Writers - to keep members of the St. Michael community in our thoughts and prayers through ongoing written communication.
This ministry is dedicated to assuring that the St. Michael community stays in touch with parishioners by sending cards and handwritten notes to those who:
- are feeling a sense of isolation
- are homebound
- reside in Crump Manor Nursing Home
- reside in Our Lady of Hope Health Center
If you have any questions about this ministry or would like to become involved, please contact Andrea Rawluk, Coordinator, at (804) 967-0678 or firstname.lastname@example.org
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said,
'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'
