Dear Fellow Parishioners:
The Finance Council is posting the Approved 2007-2008 Annual Budget for St. Michael. The Budget process included consultation and information from the pastor, ministries of the parish, the parish administration and the liaison members of the Finance Council. In its deliberations on the budget, the Council adopted the following guidelines to insure the development of a viable budget document. The budget reflects a commitment to:
- A balanced budget of income to expenses
- Projecting the same income levels for the 07/08 fiscal year at 06/07 levels
- Increases to our Youth Ministry for increased enrollment and the activities and expenses needed to serve our youth
- Increase support for Human Concerns and the charities and agencies needed to serve our youth
- Increase to the Cathredraticum Tax due to the elimination of one of our mortgages, increased tax rate and the increase in parishioners' contributions
- Continued scheduled payments to our 2.2 million building mortgage
- Transfer of savings to support : 1) expansion of parish office space, 2) improvement of the parish hall sound system and 3) development of a computer server system for administration
- Major decrease in copying/printing costs
- Increase in office administrative support for worship, liturgy and additional janitorial service.
The 2007-2008 budget planning process has been in a year of transition. The Finance Council appreciates the good work done by the Liaisons to the Ministries and the leaders and staff of the various ministries. Finally the Council appreciates the contributions made by all of our parishioners which make for a dynamic community in the practice of our Catholic Faith.
