Vocations/Adoration Ministry

Vocations Ministry History

St. Michael Vocations Ministry began in the Spring of 2006. Mary Jane Hansen and Jim Pollock were the first “co-chairs”. Organizational meetings were held, and out of these meetings was born the Traveling Vocations Cross program which had its formal beginning in October 2006. The first Wednesday was established as Adoration Day as it seemed a natural segue from Wednesday morning Mass to Adoration to Benediction. A small group of parishioners made a commitment and Adoration was then tied together with the Traveling Cross to form the Vocations Ministry. Adoration is the first Wednesday after the first Sunday of the month and all are invited to sit for an hour in contemplation of the Blessed Sacrament, which is the presence of the Lord. Father Dan Brady has instituted singing the Divine Chaplet and the Tatum Ergo to further enhance the solemnity of the Benediction.

In November of 2012 Al and Carol Merolla were asked and accepted responsibility for the Vocations Ministry. Currently the Traveling Cross Inviters are Joe McGreal (5:30 Sat. Mass), Zelda Burke (7:45 Sun. Mass), Liz Wiznerowicz (9:15 Sun. Mass), Hazel and Mervyn Lopez (11:15 Sun. Mass), and Grace DiLiberto (5:30 Sun. Mass). If you would like to receive the Traveling Cross please contact the inviter at your respective Mass. If you would like to commit to an hour of Adoration please contact Al and Carol Merolla at almerolla@msn.com.
A special thanks to our parish photographers, Joe McGreal and Wade Emmett, for taking pictures of the families below!
